Bonnie grew up in the water.
She swam on two summer teams, and the YMCA team during the winter
months for the 8 years. Although due to academics, she wasn't able
to swim in college, she did participate in a Master's program after
graduation. After moving to Lancaster, Bonnie signed up to be
a part of the Swim America program, trying to share her love
for the sport. After marriage and kids, she signed her kids
up for a program that was described to her as the "BEST program and
coaches by far, in Lancaster County"....that club? Lancaster
Aquatic Club.
Fast forward a couple years, and
there she stood, on deck, coaching for the same team and hoping
that she could do the same for the many kids she was going to coach
in the coming years. That journey began in 2008, when
we were still at Golden Meadows. That same summer she began
volunteering and evolved into coaching with the Hempfield
Stingrays. Coaching has since grown to become an integral part of
Bonnie's life. Bonnie is currently an ASCA level 3.
During her non-coaching hours, she
owns her own business offiering a variety of services like cosmetic
tattooing, tattoo removal, and various services involving lasers,
that help (mostly) women feel more confident, and beautiful!
(And I get boys....!?!) Bonnie calls it a win win...can't get
much better than this!
Fall 2012 is Coach Liz Frey's first
season with Lancaster Aquatic Club. She is excited to be back
coaching again after a year-long break of teaching English in
Malaysia. Prior to coaching here, Liz was a summer league assistant
coach for the Millersville Swim Team for 5
summers.
Liz is a 2011 graduate of Gettysburg
College, where she majored in Political Science. Liz swam for both
the Penn Manor High School team and the Millersville Swim Team. In
addition to swimming, Liz loves to run, read lots of books, and
spend time with her family and her dog, Zoe.
